A few Permit were staying out on the flats out front for a while. I first found them when they were just a few inches. When I took this picture they were about 4-6 inches. A few months later Jake and I saw them and they were over 10 inches! We haven't seen them after that, so I think they must've left. We've caught tiny permit that are only about 1/2 inch long.

While they're really small, they are solid black, but as they grow they get to be half silver half black and by the time they're around 1.5 inches their coloring is identical to adult permit.
